How do I fix a bad hair job...?

I recently tried to bleach from a medium brown about a week ago and my hair and it didn't work out. The top of my hair is white-ish while the main part is an orange-ish color and the bottom part is a combination of orange and brown. Originally wanted to dye my hair blonde and put a pink peekaboo underneath, but now I just really want to make my hair look decent again. I went to a salon and they told me that they couldn't do much because if they did my hair would have major breakage... and help/suggestions?
